Hi everyone,
I have internet now! Let's see....I have a lot to tell. I have been in Brazil since last Saturday. I am in language school about 4 hours north of Sao Paulo. I started language school on Tuesday. I am doing well and my language is coming along. Rosetta Stone was a huge help. There is still a lot I don't understand but there are a few words I do understand. I have learned how to turn on a Brazilian faucet so that I can get hot water in the shower. I am also learning how to unlock and lock doors. They turn opposite from ours and they have a series of doors just to get in one area. They may have two gates to get into an apartment complex. I love the food here! It is awesome. I am living in a "college dorm" or its equivalent. I live one block from the local university. My roommate speaks a little English but the rest of the house pretty much speaks total Portuguese. It is helpful for me to have some many Portuguese speakers around. Oh yeah, did I say it has rained and rained since I have gotten here. Esta chovendo muito. It is raining very much. (translation) I have a maid who washes my clothes and cleans my bathroom. Anyone jealous?
I also don't have to cook any of my meals. I get this service for about 100 dollars a month. That's all I have to pay for everything. (food, rent, utilities, etc.) Well, I guess I better go. Tchau!
Nova
Sounds awesome! Hope you're having a blast!
