Children and Colds

Hi everyone,
I hope you are well. Okay, I have been around adults for most of the last 18 months and I haven't really gotten sick. Well, I have been here at the school for 5 or 6 days and guess what I am sick. As soon as I got around children, I got sick. Please pray that I won't be sick for my entire Christmas break. I love the children not their germs though!

I am finally in Belem!!! After 18 months from start to finish!!

Hi everyone,
I am here in Belem! The missionaries here are so sweet. They have provided me with a very nice apartment and even a Christmas tree! I am so blessed! I found out that I will be probably teaching 1st grade instead of 3rd/4th grade. I like 1st grade a lot. Praise the Lord that He worked that out! I will post pictures soon of Belem!

Brendon's Family

Brendon's Family and Alexis' friend

They got this doll because it looked like me! Tears! Wow, God is good!

Hi everyone,

I went to Brendon's house to give him the things that he and his family needed for their home. They don't have much at all yet they bought me a doll. See photo! Brendon's mother said that I was her angel from God. May the Lord bless this family richly!

Saying Goodbye

Hi everyone,
I hope you are well. Today was my last day of formal language school. It was hard to say goodbye to all of my new friends. They are friendships that I will treasure for a lifetime. I will be flying to Belem on Monday. I love these Brazilians!
Deus Te Abencoe,
May God bless you!

LORD, YOU are so Faithful and YOU broke down the Barrier!!!

Hi everyone,
I led a Bible study last night in Portuguese for about 20 minutes. The LORD has been so faithful in my language ability! I spoke about Acts 11, where Peter spoke and had to explain why the gospel is for all peoples. I also got to share an expanded version of my testimony. I have been practicing this for weeks. I told them about my leg, my life prior to my conversion, my conversion, and how I got on the mission field. Also, my leg is healing and it is not as painful.

LORD, thank-you for giving me this opportunity to share the story YOU gave me and to impact people for Your Kingdom. LORD, you are exalted and the whole earth is filled with YOUR GLORY.

From the Bible study last night (I read to verse 13 in Portuguese)

Ephesians 2:11-22-"Therefore, remember that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called "Uncircumcision" by the so-called "Circumcision," which is performed in the flesh by human hands--remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace, and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross,, by it having put to death the enmity. And He CAME AND PREACHED PEACE TO YOU WHO WERE FAR AWAY, AND PEACE TO THOSE WHO WERE WERE NEAR; for though Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God's household having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into the dwelling of God in the Spirit."

Thank-you, LORD for making a way for all mankind!
Amen!
